9 Months - Week 4

What a busy week for Cate this week! Only two days at school and then off to Shreveport! Bright and early Wednesday morning, we loaded up the truck and headed to Louisiana. Cate had a decent trip in the truck on the way to Shreveport. She has been cutting the same additional teeth up top and has been fighting a cold this week. She got worse over the course of our trip home as far as fussing and being cranky. When we arrived we made a trip by Mike's parents new office. Cate had so much fun crawling around and checking out the place! She even found a few dollars laying around. haha

Later Cate played pool on Pops new pool table.

On Thursday, Cate couldn't wait for turkey and tried to have some unicorn instead.

After Cate's morning nap, the whole gang loaded up and headed to Meaux and Banta's for football, cornhole and food! First Cate helped make dressing.

Then we all headed outside to play cornhole.

After eating some leaves and taking a nap, Cate was ready for her first Thanksgiving, or as we called it on Thursday, Saintsgiving!

After dinner, we loaded up and headed back to the house. We had a great and very filling Saintsgiving!

On Friday, Jennifer came over to see Cate and bring her a Christmas present, since Jennifer will be in Ohio for Christmas.

That evening mom came over for a visit with Cate and Mike's dad put up Christmas lights for Cate.

On Saturday, dad and Ranae came over to visit with Cate. By this time, Cate was very cranky and fussy and was not allowing many people to touch her or play with her. She did climb up on her activity table to play and let go for a few seconds to play with her pacifier before she realized she was standing up on her own with out anyone and anythings support! After her visit with, we loaded up and headed back home. Cate did pretty well on the road. She stayed fussy when we got home and didn't want much for dinner. She calmed down before bed and slept very well last night.

Today, she has been a little better on the fussiness and crying, but not 100%.

Here are some more photos from this week:

9 Months - Week 3

This week Cate has been continuing to cut two more top teeth. She's done pretty good with them. She has been eating a little less, probably because it messes with her mouth.

Halfway through the week, the school called and said the lights went out because a transformer blew. I picked Cate up and she went to play with Natalie, thanks to Ashley saying she'd keep her for the day! Cate and Natalie had a great time playing with each other. At one point, after Ashley had changed diapers, Natalie had grabbed a wipe and gave another to Cate. They both thought they were getting away with some really good. When Ashley showed herself, Cate and Natalie had the looks of two teenagers being caught with a beer! Too funny! Cate enjoyed watching Charlie and Bailey and their friends play when they got home from school too. Thanks Ashley for keeping Cate that day!

Thanks to bath time, we can tell really how long Cate's hair has gotten!

I also finally got some pics of Cate brushing her teeth or me brushing her teeth.

Saturday, our friends Shane and Kayla came over to babysit Cate while Mike and I went to a wedding, a movie and dinner!

We got Cate all dressed up and took her to Bass Prop Shop to see Santa. Cate was really excited, of course she didn't know why. I was worried how she would react to Santa, but she did a great job!

9 Months - Week 2

Early in the week Cate was becoming overly fussy again and chewing alot. She also got a diaper rash. Turns out she is cutting two more top teeth! I really couldn't believe it. I don't know why I thought we'd get a little break between teeth. Both teeth have broken through some but are not all the way through yet.

We have continued to introduce solids to Cate. It's still hit or miss right now. I got her some yogurt bites that she really likes. She's also been eating Cheerios and I've been randomly giving her things off my plate which has gone okay. She ate a piece of my pop tart this morning, probably not the best of foods, but she liked it and ate a few pieces. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving and having her eat with us!

We have also gotten Cate some yogurt packs (baby yogurt). She really likes these. Many times when I think she's done with dinner I will try to give her some yogurt too and she eats the whole container! She really loves it!

Our neighbors informed us that they were getting rid of some toys of their girls and gave us an opportunity to go through them before sending them off to Goodwill. I had been thinking recently that Cate's toys were too 'baby' for her. We picked out several things including a Leap Frog frog that sings and teaches colors and shapes, a story book teller, some Little People and some blocks and a few other things. We haven't introduced her to all of the toys yet, just the frog, but she seems to like it.
For the first week of November at school, the teachers sent home a leaf to be decorated that shows what the baby is thankful for. Obviously Cate doesn't know what this means so I put on there her favorite things like family, school, toys and her favorite foods. I think it turned out alright.
Cate is getting more courageous in the bath. She has been trying to eat the water and has now even started dunking her head in the running water. It's really funny and she thinks it's really funny.

It occurred to me with all Cate's teeth that we need to be cleaning them. I realize this is probably a little late, but better late than never! I got her a little toothbrush and baby safe toothpaste. She didn't know what to think at first but seemed to like it okay, I think because of the flavored toothpaste! No pics of this yet, but soon.

This morning Cate slept in til 7am. I actually went in to wake her up at 7am, so she might have slept longer, but I didn't want her to get off her routine too much. When I woke her up, I let her stay in her crib for a little bit. She immediately popped up and stood up. She moved over to the changing table and reached over the rail to grab her pacifier. It was too funny. She's very smart! Later in the morning, we had her cartoons on and she crawled over to the tv and pulled herself up on the tv bench. She'd never done that before.

9 Months - Week 1

Not much new happening with Cate this week other than she is now 9 months old!

She has gotten a lot more comfortable pulling herself up and now finally, sitting back down!

She's been saying "da" or "dad" alot. I think she's closer to associated it with Mike. She hollers it in his direction. But then sometimes she hollers it in my direction too.

We have also been working on introducing more solids. It's been hit or miss. We've tried green beans, ground turkey meat, noodles, peas, apples, carrots.

She's been very playful at school. I came to get her one day and she was playing 'tag' with another baby. They had been 'chasing' each other back and forth around the room. She definitely plays herself tired. I was a little late getting to her one day. She'd been playing on the floor and laid down and just fell asleep. I went to pick her up and she was still out. Never moved as I carried her to the car and buckled her in. She plays hard!

Over the weekend we made a trip to Shreveport. She made many visitors on Saturday while Mike and I were in Ruston for a Tech football game. She slept great while in Shreveport. I was very happy about that! Friday night she even slept until 8am! It worked out perfect because then we set back her whole schedule an hour so she would sleep to a normal time the next morning during the time change. I don't have many pics of her adventures on Saturday since I wasn't there but we have a few.

Since we've been home, Cate has been laying very well by herself. She's been crawling all over and playing and not insisting to be picked up or held. Hopefully that phase is over? We'll see how long it lasts!
