14 Months - Week 4

Cate had a busy and very eventful Easter weekend. Cate and Daddy made a trip to Shreveport Thursday evening.

She got to experience a bunch of new foods! She loves eggs! Cate got to try some biscuits and jelly. She also had her first taste of animal crackers from her Grandma Deborah! On Saturday, Cate ate a whole plate of broccoli, cauliflower, & carrots, then ate some potato salad, then ate some pan fried catfish, then got a few bites of Meaux’s angel food dessert.  She was stuffed and hardly ate anything before bed.

Cate got all kinds of goodies for Easter. She got some magnet letters that she loved playing with! She got a new baby doll that she picks up and hugs alot. She also loved playing with her Easter eggs. She liked to put them all in a bucket, mostly to dump it out!  She also found another utensil she really liked messing with.

Cate got to play with her Aunt Jennifer too! She still loves playing on the stairs.

Cate was given a paper towel tube and she automatically put her hand in it and started walking around like a robot and whacking people. (pics are blurry, but you get the idea)

After church on Sunday, Cate wanted to ride in the bed of the truck on the way home, but ended up passing out inside from a long weekend.

Cate now goes up to the end table (which has now been moved to keep her from smacking the TV), fold her arms up on it, and lean on it while watching TV. Too cute!

She has gotten so big and so grown up. She's amazingly smart and blows me away with each passing day. :)

14 Months - Week 3

Cate had a rough week teething. She has her molars still coming in and her canines coming in too. She is a drool factory! She actually has a few spots under her chin where the drool has caused little blisters.

Cate has become a follower. She will follow you around the house and follows everyone around at daycare. She wants to know what everyone is doing. Definitely an explorer! She is very curious about everything. She's become much more observant. She will stare out the window looking at the leaves blowing in the wind. She wants to see everything and wants to get into the cabinets more and explore more around the house/yard. She's become much more comfortable walking around in the grass. She also goes straight for the street, which is something we'll have to work on!

I took her to the park to play and she was quick to go down the slide and climb back up it! She also let me put her in the swing! She loved it!

Cate still very much loves "reading" books. She will pull her books down, pull them over to you, sit in your lap and hold up the book. She flips the pages and points at the pictures. She still won't sit long enough to allow you to read the entire book to her.

She is still a great eater and a great sleeper! She goes right down for a nap and goes right down for bed and sleeps great! Her favorite foods are still peas and carrots, mostly carrots. She also enjoys crackers, scrambled eggs, potatoes, rice and beans.

Cate has been dancing more and has also discovered clapping. It is very cute to watch! She pulls out her laptop, pushes the buttons until she finds one that plays music, then starts dancing and clapping.

14 Months - Week 2

Cate had a great first week at school. Her schedule at home has been modified some but she's doing great. She is now down to one nap a day during the week and goes to bed a little earlier.

She is basically 100% on solid foods. She eats very well at school everyday and at home. Her most favorite foods are peas and carrots. Who knew a child could love veggies so much!?

Cate is cutting in more molars, which is always a difficult time. She's very fussy and always develops a diaper rash. But as quickly as she's been sprouting teeth, the whole teething experience should be over soon!

Cate went over to our close friends Charlie and Ashley's to play with Little Charlie, Bailey and Natalie on Friday. She did fine and even fell asleep over there. Daddy picked her up and put her to bed and she stayed asleep and slept all night. :)

Daddy says: "It's too early for this!"

14 Months - Week 1

Cate stayed home this week from school. She will be transitioning to a new school this coming week. Meaux and Banta came to stay and keep Cate the whole week.

Here is Cate's last art project from her old school.

Cate is walking like a pro now and ready to move up in her shoes too! She got a new pair of shoes for her birthday that I think she is ready for!

Cate loves going to the park now. She runs around and goes up the stairs to get to the slide by herself now. She also tries to crawl/slide down head first instead of sitting and sliding down. She thinks this is hilarious!

She is talking a bit more. She will now tell you "hi" and repeat it constatnly! :)

Cate has also moved up to a 'big girl' seat in the car. She had gotten just too big and long for her baby seat. She got to test it out for the first time on her trip with Daddy to Shreveport. Daddy stated that she had a hard time napping in it since she's sitting up more straight now.

She has gotten so much more advanced in using her fingers over her whole hand to do things. She was flipping pages one of her books and made a point to use one finger to do it rather than grabbing at the whole page with her entire hand. It was funny/cute to watch her concentration to get it right.

Here are a few more pics of Cate exploring in the backyard.
