The past two days while feeding Cate in her highchair, she has started rocking. It looks much like when she is attempting to crawl on the floor. She props herself up on all fours, head down on the floor, and rocks back and forth. I have not discovered why she's rocking in her chair, but it's kinda funny. Not sure if she will continue this.
Cate has been responding very well for eating solid foods. She did great with the green beans, which is what we started her on first.
We have only been giving her half the container of food at a time right now to make sure she does not have an allergy. However, on our first taste of flavored food when it was time to take it away, someone was NOT very happy!
During the week we introduced the green beans I also accidently introduced oatmeal with bananas. I say accidently because I thought I had gotten rice cereal with bananas, not oatmeal. About a day or two after starting the oatmeal, Cate broke out in a full body rash. No bumps, just spots. No fever. However, I'm not fully convinced that the rash was not (also) related to teething. She had also developed a diaper rash at the same time.
Thankfully, the rash has gone away, but no oatmeal for a while, just in case that was it!
After her 6 month check up at the doc, we went back to baby food again.
We introduced apples. She realty liked this too. We have then started sweet potatoes this week. She does half the container and then some rice cereal. She has now gotten to where she does not take a bottle at all after.
Cate has one more half of a container of sweet potatoes left this week and we will move on to peaches!
Cate has also started chewing on her spoon once it gets in her mouth. I say chew because she now has a couple of teeth that have come through!
It's a little hard to see in the photo, but they are there! She has been a little better the past few days since the second tooth broke through. Sleeping has been better and her fussiness has calmed too.
For now...that's all happening at the moment with Cate.

When you have gotten to where you aren't introducing any new foods to her, try the oatmeal again so that you know if that was causing the problems.
I discovered Raelee's teeth when she was drinking out of a sippy cup and there were scratches on the bottom side. I was trying to figure out why her cup got scratch. Well it was b/c she had teeth now! YAY She was about the same age as Cate.
How sweet! I love the fact you have started a blog for us to keep up. Now Uncle Steve can join the fun. It will be a nice thing to look forward to :-)
